    development services Centre

    Mueang-Nam Sustainable Development Services Centre (MengNanShe in Chinese or MNSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the community. It was registered with the Chenggong District Civil Affairs Bureau in Kunming in October 2018. In December 2024, it was rated as a 4A-level social organization by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs. MNSC uses methods such as ecological culture inheritance and development, participation of multiple actors, identifying and accompanying collaborators, and building community initiatives. It actively assists communities in strengthening or restoring their ecological culture, community cohesion and community spirit, and promotes the community's sustainable development. The name “MengNanShe” refers to a place in the south, where rivers and streams confluence, water and woods are abundant, and the fields are bustling and beautiful. It also means to realize one's dreams.

    Climate Change Adaptation

    A multi-actor participation approach is adopted, combining local wisdom and science to promote locally-led action to combat climate change.

    Assisting Rural Revitalization

    Under the guidance of the government, the participation of farmers is promoted through community leaders, self-organization support, and village-wide services; farmers are put in the driving seat to achieve the integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors.

    Ecological Culture and Biodiversity

    The focus is on community initiatives building support, using cultural research to identify values and issues and to develop protection and inheritance plans for implementation.
